Initially he was mastering the art using tabs, later he began to study in more depth, switched to notes and ear-training.

In 2018, Max Ostro was invited to participate in the first D'Addario Guitar Festival (part of the NAMM Musikmesse Russia music exhibition in Moscow) by Julia Rynkova, D'Addario representative in Russia. There he was also noticed by the Ibanez Guitars company.

The biggest influences on Max Ostro's playing style are Nick Johnston, Guthrie Govan, Paul Gilbert, Tom Quayle, Andy Timmons, Jack Gardiner, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Greg Howe, Frank Gambale, Robben Ford, Allan Holdsworth, Joscho Stephan, Armik and others.
